Old Mill Farm sits on the banks of the River Dart at Greenway, and backs on to Agatha Christie's Greenway Estate, now owned by the National Trust. Boating, sailing and canoeing are on the doorstep, as well as sea fishing trips, even a fully catered champagne picnic boat. |
The working fishing harbour of Brixham is close as well as picturesque Kingswear and Dartmouth (via ferry) with its ancient naval tradition. Totnes is well worth a visit, with its happy mix of traditional and individualistic shops and it's Saturday market. Torquay, of course, should not be forgotten with its new harbour, marine aquarium and shops and theatre. Dartmouth regatta is a must for yachties held on 28-31 st August. Art abounds in the area with numerous galleries and exhibitions. There are plenty of local pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets. Feel free to ask for our recommendations and we will be happy to arrange a booking. |

Within a short walking distance is a regular foot ferry to picturesque Dittisham with its riverside pub and café. Greenway Quay is also a good pick-up point for water taxis and ferries downstream to Dartmouth and Kingswear (we will be happy to drive our guests to and from Greenway Quay). A steam train to Dartmouth runs along the coast and river and stops at nearby Churston station. Coastal and riverside footpaths are accessible without having to drive – a real bonus for those conscious of their carbon footprints! Golfers are well catered for with Churston Golf Club (5 mins), a beautiful headland course with spectacular views of Torbay. As well as wonderful walks there are two stunning nearby National Trust Gardens to visit. Greenway House, mentioned above and Coleton Fishacre once owned by the D'Oyle Carte family.
